Dorchester County Fire Departments in action...

 August 23, 2010, Cattle Creek VFD Structure Fire:  Cattle Creek VFD was dispatched for a confirmed residential fire Monday morning.  Assisting CCVFD were Reevesville, St George and Grover FD's from Dorchester Co. and Canaan and Branchville FD's from Orangeburg Co.  DCSO, DCEMS and The American Red Cross also responded and provided support.  No injuries were reported.  The Incident Commander was Chief Jimmy Fender from Reevesville VFD.  Go to the Video page for additional photos.

  

August 4, 2010, Dorchester:  Harleyville and Dorchester FD's responded to an overturned vehicle with entrapment on I26, Eastbound mile marker 182.  Driver was able to get out of vehicle. passenger was extricated by firefighters. 

Harleyville, July 28, 2010:  Tractor Trailer Cab and Cargo fire at the 177 mile marker, I26 Westbound.  Responding units included Harleyville, Indian Field, Dorchester, St. George and Grover FD’s from Dorchester County. Holly Hill from Orangeburg County, Dorchester County EMS, SC Hwy Patrol, SCDOT, State Transport Police, Dorchester County Communications Division.  Firefighters were on scene several hours pulling apart the cargo of buring cotton bales to complete extinguishment.  The Incident Commander was Capt. Mark McDonald from Harleyville FD.
